OFTSED rank Havering's schools as worst-performing in London following years of Tory cuts. Angelina Leatherbarrow has pledged to reverse these cuts and work to secure more investment in our children's future.

Tory cuts to our schools have led to OFSTED ranking Havering's schools as the worst-performing in London and the second worst in the country. In contrast, neighbouring Labour-controlled Redbridge has the third best ranked schools in the country. It is clear, Tory cuts harm our children's education, Labour invest in our children's education and future.

The Tories have further proposed cuts of £468 per pupil, which will lose Havering an estimated 432 teachers by 2020!

Angelina Leatherbarrow, Romford's Labour candidate, said: "As a parent with children in local schools, I have seen the impact Tory cuts have had on our children's education. One of my key pledges to Romford is to oppose these deeply regressive cuts. As you MP I will increase funding for schools, cut class sizes and support free school meals for all primary school children."

The Romford Labour Party are pleased to announce that Angelina Leatherbarrow has been selected to take on the Tories as Labour's Parliamentary Candidate for Romford at the general election on June 8th.

Angelina is an NHS worker who lives in Romford town centre with her young family and is also chair of Romford Labour.

On her selection Angelina said: "As an NHS worker, raising a young family in Romford, I have seen first-hand the damage Tory cuts have had on us all. I will be an MP for the many, not the few.

At the heart of my campaign I will be opposing cuts to our schools and NHS. As someone who voted 'Remain' I will also be fighting against a Tory-led hard brexit, backed up by the Lib Dems who have already said they would go into coalition with the Tories again.

Can you join me? Sign-up to volunteer on my campaign."
